Well, this marks day number 365. In conclusion to my project, I feel like I should have something profound to say or some huge lesson of wisdom that I should impart. However, I have nothing profound to say, and the lesson I have learned...is that I still have so much to learn. I still have so many things to be thankful for and need continous reminders to enjoy the small things in life. Every day is a gift and I hope that I remember to appreciate each one.
Jilly helping me make dinner. She did a great job sqeezing the lemon for lemon juice. (She actually came out with a lot of juice!!!) Then she informed me, as she licked her puckered little lips, that she "reedy, reedy yikes yemons. Dey taste good."

Jilly has informed me, that for Halloween, she would like to be a "pwincess." She is currently obsessed with princess. And while I'm wondering where I went wrong in raising my child (whose favorite color also happens to be purple), I decided to give in and let her be a princess. (Not before trying to talk her into a number of other things first though.)
In trying to figure out from her "what makes a princess?" the only thing that continuously comes up, is that "princesses wear a dress." If this is the case, I saw no need to pay lots of money for a poorly made princess costume that she would wear once. Instead, I bought a red "princess dress" that can also be worn for Christmas. She will never know the difference....unless she ever reads this blog.
This is the model that my dad and Kevin put together for me. My dad carefully hung it up and it looks GREAT. I am so excited to see the whole room come together. Still planning on a couple more black and white photos of old planes. Better get on that project soon!
Jilly wanted a polka dotted cake for her party. I tried to duplicate a picture I found online. It turned out sort of cute. Jilly was thrilled though and got SO excited when she saw it this morning!! Made it all worth it. Plus, it tasted really good. A four layer chocolate cake with homemade buttercream frosting would make anyone's day, I guess.
